Notes:
- All settings for profiles and scanning set here are for setting DEFAULT VALUES! When using the device, using a shortcut or choosing a scan metho and hitting 'OK' immediately will use these defaults! Choosing a scan method from the built-in screen allows you to change all the scan settings for the current job, and will re-set to defaults after the job is done!

Scan to CIFS shares
1) Set profiles to CIFS:
Each profile must be pre-defined as either FTP, SFTP, of CIFS ("Network"), to edit:
- Log into scanner's web UI
- Go to menu
Scan
->Scan to FTP/SFTP/Network
- Set each profile to the appropriate setting
- click
Submit
button at the bottom of the page
2) Set up profiles:

->Scan to FTP/SFTP/Network Profile

Select the profile you want to edit

Change the settings accordingly (see below)

button on the page asking to test the profile6.a. If the scanner can connect, you are brought back to the Profile edit page with additional

text in green at the top.
3) Set up and use shortcuts:
- On the device's built-in screen, select the "Shortcuts" Menu
- Add new shortcuts, choose the profiles you made
- After setting shortcut name, select option to make shortcut "One Touch" (runs immediately)
- Select the shortcut to immediately scan the loaded documents/cards with the chosen profile.
4) Saved Profiles:
These are the profiles already set up on the scanner. Options not listed here should be left at defaults or disabled:

Scan to E-Mail
1) Set up Email Capability
To set up scanning to email, you must set up the SMTP server settings:
- Log into scanner's web UI
- Go to menu
Network
->Protocol
->SMTP (Advanced Settings)
- Fill in mail server settings according to your E-Mail hosting provider's instructions
- Click
Submit
button at the bottom of the page - enter a destinateion email address for a test email on the next page
- You will be re-directed to the SMTP edit page with extra green
Test OK
text if email test was successful. - To change default profile for scans to E-Mail, go to menu
Scan
->Scan to E-mail Server
and change the defaults there (as of 4/13/24 settings were left at default)
2) Set up Address Book
Adding addresses to address book is optional, but helpful for scanning to E-Mail, as otherwise you have to enter address in manually each time:
- Log into scanner's web UI
- Go to menu
Address Book
- Fill in the addresses (name and email) as desired
- Click
Submit
button at the bottom of the page
3) Set up scanner for easy access to E-Mail function:
Change the default page for easier access to email function:
Now the home screen always has Scan to E-Mail server
option on it!
Misc. Settings: NTP Time
- Log into scanner's web UI
- Go to menu
Network
->Protocol
->SNTP (Advanced Settings)
- replace the default server
sntp.brother.com
withtime.nist.gov
, keep the port123
the same - Click
Submit
button on bottom of page, page will refresh with greenSubmit OK
if time sync was successfull. - Click

Misc. Settings: Default File Names
Change the default file name for scanned documents:
- Log into scanner's web UI
- Go to menu
Scan
->Scan File Name
- Change settings accordingly:
